Syncing / saving issues
It's probably been discussed but the game sometimes just keeps syncing the save data with the cloud and this prevents me from quicksaving or local save. This ends up being a game breaker for me. Sometimes I lose hours of work because I just did not save every 10min. Tried all the 'tricks' like toggeling autosave on and of for a few times and unchecking cross-save. nothing works once it's 'syncing'

It looks like when trying to upload the save to the cloud the connection times out. Thus causing the sync to endlessly try to upload to the cloud.

The only workaround I have been able to get working is, when you save watch and make sure that in the top right it doesn't seem like the sync step is bugged out, if so DO NOT continue playing as anything past the point of saving will not be saved. Logout to main menu, you can load the save that you just saved and you will also notice that it is still in the "syncing" phase. and hopefully refreshing the connection and allowing the sync upload to finish.

It seems like it has a very choppy connection, not exactly sure how the Steam Cloud works and if it's tied into Larian Studios in some way I have no idea. Seems like there is some type of connection issue when trying to upload the save file.

If going back to the main page and reloading does not work, another option is a full restart of Steam and the game. I have never not had it work, it just sucks as it happens WAY to often, and when you are doing F5 saves often it can be easy to miss the fact that its stuck and hasn't saved...

I just found a temporary solution. I say temporary because I would like to use the cross platform progression once it launches on ps5. So you need to disable the steam save option for this game only (within steam settings on the game). In game also disable the cross save and you won't have any issues and work with your local saves until it is fixed.
