It's kind of huge and hard to miss.
Unique Helmet, heavy/medium armor that's really good, haven't look at the weapon i'm guessing they are at least descent, no reason to skip the forge.
i made one thing, just to get the forge going to do the fight...(earlier game i made two..neither worth it IMO).
Its a pain to get to, and nothing spectacular comes from it. In any further games i play, i plan to just skip it all together.
And yes, the area is easy to miss. I did not even find it in my first run. Since I resolved the Nere situation after finding the gnome explosive, there was no more hint about the connection. The relevant duergar are gone afterwards.
What you possibly missed are adamantium items: medium and heavy armor, shield, mace, longsword, scimitar, and one other weapon I believe. The special of the weapons is that object take full damage from them. But shield and armor prevent crits on the wearer and the shield allows a reaction to make attackers prone. There is also an adamantium helmet, but that is from the guardian, which my fighter still wears.
You mean the 2-3 jump actions you have to "go through" in order to reach the place? Yes, what a burden.
