They basically get to attack twice due to attack of opportunity and anything they kill will spawn an AI controlled zombie.
Necromancers are not just "Wizard Necromancy" just so you know.
And while you are not supposed to create an undead army with just one character, there are some options who can get close.
Works like a charm on selected/all summoned creatures and party members. Cast the Friends cantrip (the latest version adds the cantrip without all the Cheat Engine malarkey mentioned) on whoever you want to control automatically. Cast the cantrip on them again to return them to your control. The AI runs them pretty efficiently, even down to healing party members if they are able to do so. It's almost like playing with real players without having Randoms join and being unable to remove their character when they aren't online. 😄
Some people report they can't get it to work, but just follow the install instructions to the letter. There are other AI mods but this one was the first one I tried and because it works I didn't try the others. No doubt they are good as well.
