Any one over the other to do first?
EDIT: I'm level 5 btw.
ALSO: you can buy some of the most potent poisons from an undead nurse at the house of healing. Venom poison that you can throw at the ground... dip all your party weapons and bows for massive 1d10 poison damage. If you have poisoner's gloves... you can stack like 4d10 poison damage. but even 2d10 form two attacks... (poison lasts until long rest)
If you do both you will get some weird dialogue options that don't make sense. There are things you can do in the underdark that will make for broken dialogue in the mountain pass and vice versa. It's not game breaking it's just weird to have party members talk about things like they haven't happened when you've already dealt with them.
If you do both you will be at a higher level or Act 2, but personally on my third play through I think it's just as fine to do one or the other. The story is "smoother" if you choose one and stick with it. Helps with replayability if you leave a section undone for the next go round!
Underdark and Grymforge have way more content.
In mountain pass there is just the temple with Creche basically.
But you want to do both for XP, items and lots of good stories and adventures.
But the best way is to be "opportunist" and do both. Go get the lantern, get the blessing, then go back, and find the Harpers through the Underdark after. So when you get to Moonrise you have both sides open and it makes easier to traverse all the angles and you can quickly empty the tower before you forcefully need to face everyone.
