Has my Astarion romance come to an end?
I've just got to act 3 and gone to speak to Astarion at camp, up until now I've had a couple of romance scenes with him, and my approval is at 'good'. There's a dialogue option to say we haven't shared a night together recently, and the outcome of that discussion is that he was just having a bit of fun and isn't interested.

If I raise his approval through Act 3 does the romance become available further? Or have I completely blown it!?

I'm worried I missed something big in Act 2 to develop the relationship, i'm really hoping i don't have to go back, but i'm prepared to do it for the romance XD

Thanks in advance, and i know the spoiler tags might not be necessary but hey better safe than sorry! :)

I had the same issue. Completed the game and didn't get anything from Astarion after that dialog option popped up in Act 3.

Raising his approval didn't do anything at all, in my case.

I have a similar problem. I finished Act 2 without talking to the Drow ( I dealt with Nightsong before going to the tower and now she is gone, which seems a completely legit roleplay choice), the approval is very high (75 or so) and now, at the beginning of Act 3, out of the blue, I get that awful dialogue from Astarion ("we haven't spent a night together" and he claims that I am seeking to undo my wrongdoings). From a quick search, it seems that the romancing is over just because I skipped the Drow thing and the consequent hug scene (with the Raphael quest, I did everything OK)... Is this true? All over just because of a reasonable choice? There must be a mod or something to correct this :( Or is it a bug?

To be fair, that does sound like Astarion... ^^

Is it you didn't do the Raphael quest to help him know the meaning of his scars? I've always done it so I've never had this dialogue. Probably if you didn't do it he just doesn't like you anymore, since it's really important to him.
U need to do the dialogue with the Drow in the Moonrise towe bc is important to his romance in the Act 2 ):

You don't have to talk to the Drow, but if you skipped the whole Raphael quest then that's probably why. Though I'm not sure how it's even possible to skip that since you need to do that quest to get the orb thingy to get to Nightsong.

As some people are saying in their threads, Astarion will romance you by himself, even if you don't want to.

tl;dr - You have to go back to Act 2!

I hate to say it but yeah, the Drow at Moonrise is actually important to continuing the relationship aspect with him. It is your chance at a second romance scene that continues. Asking Raphael for help with Astarion's scars is integral to his story further.

The end of Act 2 is when a lot of story bits hit a note with most companions that your relationship with them begins to influence alot how their story shapes up. Its also when you need to choose whom you are staying with and are locked to that 1 relationship.

Hey there Grumpy with your "As some people are saying in their threads, Astarion will romance you by himself, even if you don't want to." LOL Okay mate. s'alright, you will live and still be considered a true-real man even if another one hits on you. Since you have the power to say no and turn him down in all sort of insulting ways! Your kind have all the tools they need to destroy this character, yet you insist on coming to steam and whining about it is all you can do? So weird, like Larian included a lot of cruelty you can do to him explicitly for the empathy-impaired types.

Well if your approval is high enough with him you're able to get that scene where you can hug him even before talking to the Drow. The Drow is just an alternate route to get it. It seems you do need to enter Moonrise Towers for that scene to become available next time you long rest though, cause on my second playthrough it wasn't triggering for me and I was wondering what was wrong. But it happened after I entered Moonrise Towers. So, it most likely was because you did the Nightsong quest first and it locked you out of some stuff. It even warns you before you go in.

Yes, I see. But my pickle with the game design is that, while you will always get to meet Raphael and decide what to do, I was not really given the chance to interact with the Drow. She was hostile due to my game path. They should not put such a fundamental interaction in a story part that can be easily unintentionally skipped IMHO. I hope they make a mod to correct this...

Did you long rest after the last Act 2 fight? maybe you were still able to get it as long as you didn't go to Act 3.

Yeah, I think they read it wrong.... but it made me chuckle, if it's any consolation :)

Larian just invented the first nap simulator game.
