Agreed with this, though
No? Getting several people to constantly play at the same time for the same length is like that.
Co-op is going to be better if you get along with your group and know how to properly role-play with them, and can set aside the time needed to actually get through the game (considering it took me 67 hours to beat it and many people needed significantly longer, that's a tall order for many groups).
But playing solo has some advantages. One major advantage is that you get more out of the NPC storylines for named party members, when they are actually with you. But in co-op you make your own story and can have hilarious things ensue in a way that never happens in solo play (where you decide everything for your entire party).
I beat the game solo, but plan to play through it properly in co-op eventually.
I also do single player when they are not free and it is just awesome...
With randoms. Not so much.
Alone. Really really good.
But it is a CRPG. so there will be a lot of waiting around for turns and the like. bear that in mind. It's not for everyone.
For example, I recruited Karlach, but almost totally ignored Wyll up to that point because it was the second character of player 2. And then it kind of broke. Wyll always has a mark notifying as he wants to talk, but he doesn't have anything to say and all progress about him just stopped. We are now in the underdark and he is still like that.
Everyone talks about how NPCs throw themselves at you, but at the party, everyone rejected us (except for Gale, he is desperate but I turned him down). I'm supposed to have a fling with Lae-Zael, but still, she left me waiting.
On a restart we noticed that if one of us is dark urge, but the other isn't, a lot of inconsistencies can happen. The game tends to mix the decisions all players do in weird ways. Yesterday we finally realized what was up. We were actually the same character in a weird way.
