Resilience not stacking?
Created a blue dragonborn with resistance to lightning, while being a storm sorcerer and at level 4 gaining resistance to thunder and lightning. As I understand it, resistances do not stack, and it would be more profitable for me to choose another dragonborn?

From a meta-gaming perspective, maybe? But from an RP perspective I wouldn't necessarily say so. Besides which, you can gain resistance to various elements fairly easily as you progress through the game with items and elixirs and so on - I wouldn't worry about it much.

Even if you're playing on Tactician that shouldn't be an issue worth restarting over.

You could also consider having Withers change your class.

Correct. Resistance does not stack with it self. As there is only two versions Resistance to something for 1/2 damage and Immune to something for 0 Damage.

This is the same in tabletop 5E

But do know I believe it would not be a total waste as I want to say the dragonborn only gets the resistance to lighten and is not resistant to thunder damage which are two different damage types.

But if you wanted to min/max your resistances then yes take a different dragonborn and you will end up with three resistances at level 4

Thanks for the answers, of course it's a shame that one resistance is lost, especially since I play tactics, but I will continue to play like this and I will think that this is RP)

Thanks for confirming. Though this is a huge disappointment. It's easier to track resistances as stacking %'s, not just "1/2 damage", along with something akin to energy protection "absorbs/negates X amount of that damage type". It would be actually useful to have 100% resistance to fire for example, able to molt and burn up using items, then unload on a target as a fire caster specialist for example. Resistances that are introduced with completely different feat/ability names should stack.

(Should we not have more than 1 extra action because actions shouldn't stack as well?)
