Why no handicapped heroes?
There's this whole range of diversity to the character creation, yet there's no option of my character being handicaped at all. No limb damage, no anything. eh. I know more handicaped people playing this game than others actually.

It honestly would of been cool to have a grisly one-armed fighter companion. Make him have a passive ability called Veteran of Battle where he can one-hand any two handed weapon.

Or maybe a companion that's an amputee that was experimented on, but they can swap out their body parts depending on what abilities you choose for them.
we dont need representation in every game. would be neat to have augmented limbs but who cares its a fantasy game
Look at Laezel.
Look at her face.
She represents burn victims.

Thing is this is based in a Fantasy World where you have Magic that can almost instantly regrow Lost Limbs, not to mention bring people back to Life after who knows what kind of things happened to your Body. You would have to willingly not get yourself fixed, or have had it replace with a Magical Artifact before that could happen, and I dont think you can really classify that as Handicapped at that point.

It would be cool if you could actually sustain maiming injuries like the TT game. I don't quite know the rules for 5e, but I remember you could add house rules in 2e that could cause lingering injuries, maiming injuries, etc. You could break your legs from a fall that was high enough, and if it wasn't treated by a cleric within days, you could be crippled for life. You could get your arm chopped off with a critical hit that left you disarmed and knocked out.

Basically, if you took a crit from a bugbear that had a great axe, and you were brought to 0 HP, but that hit technically did more damage than your remaining health, your DM could opt to give you a maiming injury. A smart DM made a table with a 100 sided die deciding the percentage chance it was head, leg, or arm, etc. Then a separate roll would determine how severe that injury was. Of course, the standard constitution save would be made to determine if you would even live through the injury, and if the injury could heal properly -- or maim you. Basically a bunch of house rules that made campaigns like Ironman game modes, and my DM made death perminent. Every resurrection came with a saving throw for death, and if you failed it, you died -- forever.
There is a table for lingering injuries in the DMG. It is however completely optional. to use, by the discretion of the dm.
Mentally challenged is an option in every game.

Are handicapped people not able to enjoy playing a non-handicapped character?
Going by your logic game doesnt need Trans/LGBT+/Color representation, because they should be enjoying playing as straight cis white male.

You are toxic person and should be ashamed of yourself.

Handicapped people deserve to have representation in this game.

Not to mention that there are no models for obese people etc. but that is fortunetly fixed by modders already.

I can 1 shot a boss as a druid, hell any class could use the build I put together. Depends on their HP limit though rofl I find the upperimit for a single hit kill is like 90ish but a single full turn kill is like 150ish for what I did and I'm a druid so I don't have double attack only bonus and single action attack.

I mean, you can become handicapped through your role play choices. You can lose BOTH eyes in act 1 alone.

As someone who is disabled I can't speak for all disabled people but u don't need a nearly deaf, busted arm busted hip low sight in constant pain hero thays would be dumb anyway rofl
Can a game do it? Yeah probably, but the question is how silly is it gonna be?
Some games can represent this with prosthetics at best, but it's not easy to make a realistic wheelchair representation for example. What are you gonna make them go around every set of stairs in the game? How do they get to the top of moonrise towers?

As far as I have met most disabled people aren't looking for exact representations of themselves in games or protagonists something Iike wyll is a decent small example of people not considering a literal eye missing as a disability. The lack of 1 eye is crazy difficult and does qualify you for disability in the states.

Then Larian would really have needed to increase the level cap.
