I want a pet beholder/Spectator
As the title says I want to be able to get a pet beholder/spectator. That would be awesome.

That is all.

I highly doubt that will be added without mods, as that would be over powerd as heck, but still running around with a beholder would just be awesome, a real power trip lol

Imagine having to give it eye drops or pills.

Beholders are by far the coolest creatures in DnD they literally turn their dreams into reality.

Does carrying one in your pocket in a bottle count? Bonus points that you can show him a good one time to friends in the Grove as well.

If he wasn't hostile when you let him out and joins your camp/party then it would count for sure, sadly it just aggros everything.

I remember Neverwinter Nights had the option to use a small one (eyeball) as a familiar. Might have been through the Underdark expansion? Obviously not powerful like a real beholder, but it was cool to have.

Funny. I can imagine a spectator might want to say the same about you.

You can have one but it will be stuck in a bottle of holding or whatever the name is

I saw on YouTube that there is a way to get one as a Pet but idk if its permanent. Basically you play as a Oathbreaker Paladin, Obtain the Iron, wait til at least level 6, enter act 2, and while in the deep shadows you will want to release the spectator and kill it, and it should come back as an undead a few seconds later, then use the Oathbreakers Control undead Ability to turn the zombie Spectator into your pet.

It's not permanent. Only until the next long rest.

Custom companions mod will let you do that.

You can clone any NPC or monster and add it to your party. There's an add-on mod for it on the same page to clone during combat. I have had baby owlbear, Kua-toa, Tara, the dancer from Sharess', and even the red dragon join my party. The dragon was the only one that will break the game if you send it to camp, haven't had any issues with other creatures.
