What class are you playing and why?
I chose solo ranger but I had to recruit some help for a boss fight and playing with the other characters was fun. I'm about to go to the road to baldurs gate. I'm thinking of switching it up bc gloomstalker is getting a bit old but I don't know much about dnd classes. Spore druid looks fun, but I think the fights where you have a bunch of summons would be very long with all those turns. Solo gloom stalker has been pretty easy but its pretty much just misty step, spike growth, shoot and keep distance over and over.

I’m playing a Wild Magic Sorcerer for a couple reasons. I’ve always wanted to play one in dnd for the chaos, but don’t love that the consequences could be super detrimental to my fellow players. So doing it in my single player game is a great opportunity to embrace the chaos without harming anyone besides myself. Lol. Also I just really wanted my first solo play through to be complete chaos. Choosing whatever options I felt like and going with it and just seeing how crazy things could get. Like… I accidentally summoned a devil and turned my whole party into cats and dogs. Then I turned the devil into a sheep. All while the person I was originally meant to be fighting was stuck in a bubble? That’s wild, alright.
Ooh I gotta try this. Future playthroughs I'm gonna respec the heck out of companions to try all this stuff

im playing shadowheart and somewhat enjoying it. i wish the party had 6 companions instead of 4 but still fun. (if party were 6 men big, pool of origin characters would have increased to 9 or 10)

I was planning on Druid but ended up with Gale as Conjuration (felt most thematic) Wizard.

Gonna have to try druid later. Or elemental monk because gonna be honest I pick classes based on style. Druid seems really fun for a more minimalist run as a sneaky cat.

Druids are actually incredibly fun.

Gnome Barbarian because why not. Something funny about a short guy with elf like ears passing intimidation checks to mock a bugbear trying to pleasure an ogress and making a goblin eat literal feces before letting out manlet rage and shoving dwarves into lava.

Wood elf rogue (thief) for me, because I like being sneaky, stabby, and silver-tongued.

Gnome sorcerer with the charlatan background. Sort of kind of recreating one of my WoW characters but also because I usually never play gnomes or halflings in these games.

That seems like a great idea to make your play through fun and random. I didnt want to play a caster but if I was it would be that

Oathbreaker paladin and Warlock multiclass. Good aligned.

Playing an angry and hateful warlord who fights evil and protects protects people. Trying to have a BG3 version of Doom Guy.

Paladin because it’s the best class

Warlock because having a pact with an eldrich entity is cool. Fan of Lovecraft horror.

Ancients Paladin 2/Sword Bard 10. Pretty fun combo, most of the time it's just the party tank, but it's deadly when it goes nova combining slashing flourish with smites. I like playing Gish characters, and this is a reasonably powerful Gish for BG3.
This one seems pretty interesting throwing smites on a bunch of attacks. I might try this

Druid because Spike Growth goes Brrrrr
Tachyon Aug 23, 2023 @ 2:13pm
Wizard/Necro, just because I love classes that use Undead spells.

Incredibly "FUN" builds I highly recommend:

Paladin 6 / Warlock 6 using the spear "Sorrow" [Act 1]
(Starting with Paladin 1 / Warlock 3)

Eldritch Blast (Action) knocks enemies back 15 feet per Ray
Sorrow spear (Bonus Action) pulls enemies towards you with Vine Whip 10 feet.
Misty Step for travelling, Fireball for AoE, Heavy Armor for Tanking, +5 to all saving throws for Magic, and permanent Advantage on your attacks if you cast Vow of Enmity on yourself for 10 turns per Short Rest. So incredibly fun having that much battlefield control over your enemies.

Berserker 8 / Thief 4
You have Advantage on every attack (Reckless Attack)
You are stupidly tanky (18AC Medium Armor, Massive HP, resistant to melee.)

You have two bonus actions which can be used on:
- Rage
- Frenzied Strike: Full attack
- Great Weapon Master - Full attack upon killing something
- Dash
- Jump
- Enraged Throw

Enraged Throw as a Bonus Action prones enemies. You can throw human sized enemies once you have 20 STR. There's a Polearm that gives +2 STR early on. You can throw party members if they can't make a jump. You can throw an enemy who is threatening your Wizard off a cliff. You can throw one enemy at another to prone both of them. Or you can toss three enemies per turn back into your Wizard's 5th level Wall of Fire over and over proned. You are leaping 30 Feet and have amazing Ranged damage as a Barbarian if you bring weapons with the Thrown tag. So much fun to be had.
That seems pretty fun throwing people around alot
