Or do you mean Ketheric's "Throne Room"?
Or maybe even the Goblin Lord's "Throne Room"?
Maybe there are other throne room fights I'm missing.
Talking about Gortash, and yes I know hes not in the room (which is also insanely stupid), went through the entire fight and but was still in combat somehow so I had to slowly move each of my characters upstairs even after that it still kept me in combat with no enemies remaining. The fight was so bad I just reloaded and snuck in to the rooftop completely avoiding the fight.
If you fight him after dealing with the Steel Watchers (the clearly intended progression), the throne room should only have like 4 or 5 guards at most that are pretty easily dealt with, and then some random traps. Some shoot concussion grenades (you can throw them away if you get characters that move in time), and some shoot a wave of fire after a delay from the walls. If the grenade launchers or fire launchers are active they might count you as still in combat, I'm not quite sure, but in my case the combat ended once I killed the last guard.
Sneaking around is a fair work-around though, in any case.
I know how it all works its just not a good fight. Every enemy spams out dominate person, and the traps go off at random. Add on top of that random bits of fire automatically exploding the grenades making it so you cant even react when they get launched. It's really disappointing how poorly the throne room and gortash fight were. Really just seemed like they threw some traps in a room and said "done".
I do think that the fight against Gortash was disappointing, but not because of the traps. I thought it was a bit disappointing because it's far too easy compared to taking down the other two leaders with the stones (admittedly, the Steel Watchers you have to deal with before ever showing up takes a long time to deal with).
Though I thought that was fitting. I personally thought compared to fighting through the Steel Watcher foundry and the prison and such prior to that this section was trivial in comparison, but I could understand being frustrated by the traps. The grenades blowing up before you could react was annoying sometimes for me, but being able to often throw them and do massive damage to enemies instead balanced it out for me.
If you upcast invisibility it effects more targets, it can get you past a lot of annoying fights.
My guy, the fight is bugged and OP is describing the bug. The bombs trigger combat upstairs, which skips the dialogue you're supposed to get from confronting Gortash.
His minions also spam a mind control spell on each other.
Game's fun, fights cool, but its a ♥♥♥♥ show right now for many players.
A lot of the bosses are a bit too easy.. they really should have given them crit immunity and cc immunity.. as well as some more damage reduction.. Raphael fight definitely needed way more hp on him but overall his was the best fight.
What bug did they mention? I didn't realize the bombs were what was making the combat continue - that didn't happen in my game, so I was just giving advice based on my own experience. If indeed that is what happened, well, my only suggestion could have been to try loading an earlier save from before it bugged out. But they mentioned they already got around it with stealth, so it's a moot point now.
