Party Members with different XP
I thought all party members share xp but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Currently, my main PC and law’zel have 3701 xp, Shadowheart has 3666, and Wyll just leveled to 5 before everyone and now shows only 6 xp…. Man is my game totally bugged!?

There will be some very, VERY minor variations between character exp
Don't worry about it, theyll hit the same level at roughly the same time, +/- 1 kill.

It's because certain actions inspire party members. For whatever reason inspiration EXP isn't shared, which unbalances the EXP amounts.

Feels like an oversight. Minor but annoying.

It's not a bug. Inspiration gives characters a small chunk of XP whenever it happens, but only to the character whose backstory is relevant. It's almost guaranteed that your characters will be slightly out of sync with one another because of this, though it's almost never enough that they won't level up at nearly the same time.

Why exactly would a character's inspiration experience bonus be shared?

The discrepancies between XP never seem to be more than like.. 20XP so it's not really worth noting imo.

It not being shared means it's useless for anyone except the player character. Companions are only ever brought up to your amount of XP. As soon as the companion that was inspired leaves the party and you gain ANY xp, that experience is functionally lost. They would have to never leave your party for there to be an actual benefit to them gaining XP separate from you.

sharing xp with only for when team member take action together like as combat events , but keep in my some other actions can give xp , like "aspiration" points ( when for example on dialog you pick a dialog that align on believe/lore of your team menber ) .
many action , event can trigger reward xp ^^

but there's steel a safety sub gameplay feature ,
when you adding a new member or your squad , the level with at the same minimum level at yours when the member go in your squad or a recruit a new member

Maybe unpopular opinion but this mechanic with all party member get the XP shoveled back to them as soon you pick them from camp is just stupid. Companions should get the XP they got while be on their journey with you.

Why is a character's inspiration usable by anyone other than the character that was inspired? Because it's a nice QoL feature to include.

This would just make it so you're forced to abandon companions as you outlevel them.

Its something on the order of 500xp across 100,000 -200,000 xp points in the game. Its beyond trivial.

Honestly I’m surprised this slipped through playtesting. Since xp is shared as a party in all aspects, inspiration should be no different. Heck even inspiration points for re-rolls are shared as a party. It seems like a really minor thing that causes unnecessary changes in xp.

It's a little more than that but nothing an encounter or two doesn't correct. It is, however, trivial as you said.

may be at first the gain xp was more about when player pick an origin character , a reward to follow and align with it

I had a similar event, BUT in my case everyone but Astarion were ahead in xp
