BG3 Doesn't Deserve the Praise

Oh, Andromeda wished it had that kind of quality - and I liked it more than ME2-3.

You should watch some original footage of Mass Effect Andromeda though, if you've played it in the past few years then you've played it with patched animation...

The facial animations are some of the best I've yet seen in any game, 0/10 troll, you won't get your clown award points from me.

The way I see it, this game is like going to a nice restaurant and ordering a 3 course meal. The appetizer is MINDBLOWINGLY DELICIOUS, the main course is INCREDIBLE, those two being some of the best food you ever had. Then the dessert is still good, but not on the same level as appetizer and main course, and the chef forgot the little cherry that's supposed to be ontop.

Do you leave the restaurant cursing its name, skip the bill and swear to never return?

No.

This game is still INCREDIBLE and a breath of fresh air, and I loved every second I spent with it, and will love any future second I'll spend with it. So yes, it deserves praise.

its definitely not as bad as MEA , but i can see where OP is coming from
while BG3 IS a good game and great by modern standards , there is a LOT to unpack in that statement , modern gaming has a bar thats so low its underground
BG3 has a LOT of flaws and the praise that its getting is likely to drown out a lot of valid criticism that it rightly deserves
the idiot masses tend to be very polar and ignore anything that isnt an echo of their preconceived notions , ie its either the best ever or the worst ever , zero nuance or inbetween [ie not realistic takes, just extremist idiocy]

also you can pickup/carry ROPE but it literally does NOTHING ingame , it cannot be used AT ALL , 0/10 Larian , big oof , press F srsly

objectively it is a 9.2/10 according to users reviews on metacritic and a 9.6/10. according to steam reviews

In conclusion, it deserves the praise. Personal opinions are subjective, numbers are not.
