Long rest NOT Refiling Spell Slots *solved*

Turns out I was wearing armor that I wasn't proficient with. This stops you from recharging spell slots. Keeping this up in case anyone else makes this mistake.

Long resting is not refiling spell slots and now I'm stuck with a corrupted save. Is there any way to fix this? I've been long resting with enough supplies but all of my spells remain grayed out no matter what I do.

You got some armor equipped that the character isn't proficient with?

there are posts about this all the way back from 2021.
they all throw ideas and never figure it out. no idea but it doesnt look good

It turns out I was stupidly wearing something my character wasn't proficient with. That fixed it. I'm new to this style of game so it's not super intuitive that I wouldn't recharge because I'm wearing something I'm not proficient with. But I get it now

Having the same issue with my Paladin. He's not wearing armor he's not proficient with though..
I don't know what to do

I'm probably horribly late but wanted to jump in for anyone else struggling here. On my playthrough everyone got the long rest except for tav, who activated the faucet. When one of the other party members activates the faucet, tav gets the long rest too.
