How powerful Elminster is?

I'm not familiar with D&D , there's even no option to have him join player against Elder brain in the end , is he gonna be too broken or something?

Gale actually used to be on a similar-ish level, not quite to that extreme, but before the netherese orb ate the vast, vast majority of his magic, he was also a chosen of mystra, and an archwizard.

Full-power gale would also solo the entire campaign instantly.

He was also one of the original "I bedded my goddess" types and not just the "I'll say this character did it instead of offering actual character development" type.

Yes, he's lvl 20 I think, but he's stats block is somewhat like CR26-30? Which is on same scale of god avatars, ancient dragons etc. Dude is broken, tho is much less broken in 5e than he was in 3.5

By lore level 40, 1 level rogue the rest wizard and I think 5 or 10 archmage. But super powerful.

I know hes supposed to be one of the only wizards to equal Daurgothoth in terms of magical power. Both of them being chosen of mystra.

Yea it looks like they nerfed all old overpowered wizards? Something to do with Second Sundering or maybe by game design/balance purposes

Here is some information from the Epic Level Handbook of 3.5.
He is level Fighter 1/Rogue 2/Cleric 3/Wizard 24/Archmage 5
He has WIL and INT in the high 20s, CON still in the 20s. His dump stat is STR with _13_
He is a chosen of Mystra and can wield her Silverfire. You name a spell, he probably can cast it. Twice.
He can use touch spells on 30 feet distance.
He can reflect spell 100% if they are turnable with counterspell.
He can manipulate the element of any arcane spell he knows.
He is immune to magic missile, detect thoughts, fireball, Evard’s black tentacles, feeblemind, finger of death, sunburst, temporal stasis.
At the time of BG3 he is probably almost 1300 years old.

Super urber POWERFUL.

In the novel Elemenster Making of mage (great book) It showes him start as a fighter then become a Rouge, Then a Priestest (yes a woman) before becoming a Mage. He is power full by this point and it is only the start of his life. (He could solo this game even here lol.)

He can be killed, not that strong, but it's his simulacrum. And Gale doesn't even react to it. They did not implement any kind of funny or cool interaction, unfortunately
