Where's The Owlbear Cub?

Apparently it was supposed to be at the Goblin Camp and being attacked by them, but by the time I found the cub in the nest, the Goblin Camp was just hostile to me since I had killed the leaders, I never got the event.

I think you missed the cub. I might have too, but I don't know. I did the chicken race and long rested two or three times, but no luck so far.

I think you may have to do the Owlbear cave before you go to the goblin camp. It's why it's along the way.

I believe you also need to do a long rest first for the cub to be there.

You don't have to kill the mother for the cub to show up, just encounter her. Rest, and then go to the goblin camp.

You may need to spend more time than just a rest away, I did the cave, and then ran around Underdark for a bit, then found the cub.

The cub should be in the area where the Goblins are partying outside next to a bugbear NPC right next to the small storage room.

Cub showed up in my cap before I got out of Act 1 begging for food.

When I cleared out the Goblin Camp it was wandering around on its own in the entrance. I befriended it and eventually it came to live in my camp.

After a few long rests, he'll be there in Act 2.

Doesn't need to be act 2. Showed up in act 1 for me.

I think it's just after a set amount of rests after you interact with it at the goblin camp, assuming there isn't some other rest cutscene that bumps it due to priority.

If you didn't buy/win the cub from goblins, probably it's lost for this playthrough.

You can also slaughter them and get it, unless that's what you mean by "win".

It just has to be there when you slaughter the goblin block party as far as I know.

That's how I got it. Killed all the goblins, the owlbear was all that remained alive, I went up and interacted with it, and it showed up at my camp.

That's how I got it. Killed all the goblins, the owlbear was all that remained alive, I went up and interacted with it, and it showed up at my camp.

Well there was this race minigame you could participate via cub's previous "owner", but I guess everything was pointless if you didn't need to interact with her in any way.

It ended up coming by camp during sleep while in the underdark. Got it to come closer but Astarian freaking scared it off! It better come back...

It took a while to come to my camp.

I had it run off after the owlbear encounter and it was not in the goblin camp (no long rest between). After I had slaughtered all goblins and finished the quests I dropped by for a clean-up and it was standing where it was supposed to be, minus the goblins. It sniffed my hands and ran off.
Sometimes later it appeared in camp, and then it ran off, with the message "that we will see it maybe again". And I didn't see it for a long time.
Only in my last camp in act 2 did it finally show up to get fed. So I did a back-to-back rest and it came again to have it's paw healed. After that it staid in camp all the time.

Lae'zel kinda hates it, but maybe I can get the achievement this time. Anyway, this event can take a while to happen.

I didn't see the owlbear cub return until the end of act 2.

It takes about 3-5 long rests for it to fully join your camp, It will have one event where it will show up and then run off, and another for it to fully join.

Definitely doesn't have to be in Act 2 to join, I just did a bunch of long rests in a row and got it to join my camp.
