How are people lvl 12 so early ?

I saw a few complains about people being lvl 12 too early and having a lot of missing exp because of that.
I thought I like that because being max lvl in a rpg for more than the last 5 minutes is a good change and i like to be max level for a certain amount of time.

I did alot and most side stuff I could find, did alot of fighting, exploring and didn't have any feeling of I skipped anything.

I am now I think like 30% or something through with act 3 and I am only close to level 10, how do people reach level 12 so early that they complain about too much missing exp ? If act 3 and exploring keeps up in that pace I am maybe lvl 12 at the last few hours of it.

I finished act 2 as lvl 10, i did do everything possible and got into fights that i could of skipped for extra xp tho

IDK. I killed more people? I reached 10 right at the very end of act 2.

Did as much as I could stand content-wise and I hit 12 about the middle of act 3.

I was also level 10 at the end of act 2 and hit 12 when I was maybe 1/3 of the way through act 3.

Edit: So if you're level 10 1/3 of the way through you'll maybe hit 12 2/3rds of the way through.

If you explore 100% of the maps, talk to every NPC, complete every Act 1 quest before starting Act 2, and get a lot of Background Inspirations then you will hit Level 10 at the very start of Act 3.

I hit level 10 at the rooftop of moonrise. You definitely can hit it late act 2.

If you take your time you can be level 12 almost as soon as Act 3 begins. This game isn't exactly built around leveling and combat, but rather story.

Im 3h into Act 2 and my Party is lvl 7.

The game gives you a lot of experience for killing. When you go genocidal on everything you level up quickly.

I'm nearly level 6 and haven't even finished Act 1 yet. Lots of exploring talking to everyone with a speech bubble, etc.. And I am a charismatic Druid who talks his way out of a lot of things so I have probably skipped a lot of fights.

I talked my way out of any fight I could and I can assure you that it does not limit your leveling in any meaningful way

My first playthrough I was level 7 before I finished Act 1, my current playthrough I just left Act 1 at about 6 and 3/4s. The game actually advises you against entering the next Act before level 5.

It is easy....dont go to sleep when you killled the bosses (Goblin area) when you go to sleep all goblins will disapear.....you will lose much exp...

when you finish quest kill everyone...easy exp farming metod. like when you kill thorm in act 2 then that women who is in charge of light inn recrute her go there and kill everyone. Also kill everyone before in moonrise tower before going to fight thorm.

I reached max level at act 3 with loads of side quests still to do . Doesn’t really bother me that im in a sense collecting worthless exp but it’s odd that they couldn’t have stretched the levels out more .

Although for all we know perhaps that was the intention . Maybe they want you to be level 12 early so that you start ( providing you are not terrible at the game ) decimating the enemies.
