Death/Dark Knight with Dark Magic build?
Hello all! I'm looking for a build if there is one to make a dark knight with dark magic or necromancy. What would the character have to be - race, classes or subclasses?

By the way, the next build is a combination of an assassin with a mage, or an assassin with a druid - are there spells that can be interestingly combined with silent kills, etc?

Oathbreaker Paladin is the Death Knight of D&D I think.

Oathbreaker Paladin with Warlock with The Great Old One subclass.
Start with 6 points into pala, then switch to Warlock at level 7.

Basically if you want to RP an endgame boss.

You can try warlock blade spore druid... I don't think it'd work but, it's creative so why not? lol

War domain cleric leaning into more sinister spell choices can also kinda have this feel. Raise undead, bane, curses, disease, etc

Oathbreaker paladin or druid circle of spores have the most necromancy themed abilities, but a wizard would be able to use some to supplement their abilities as well. a sorcerer could too of course but they're better off as more straightforward "blaster casters" because of their metamagic and limited spells learned

As far as "dark magic" goes the most on-brand for that would be Warlock

Many thanks for your answers! :) And how to pack points and at what level to choose a given subclass to create such a Dark/Death Knight who fights well with a two-handed sword and uses death magic?

It's not a level. To get oathbreaker, you need to break your oath. How to break it depends on the oath you pickedat level 1 (devotion, ancient or vangeance). Usually if you pick devotion, killing an innocent will break the oath.

Oathbreaker, but Eldritch knight with necromancy wouldn't be bad imo
