Nighsong Fight end of Act2 (Balthazar fight)

Im at my wits end and looking for advice, and i know im gonna get a slew of "git gud" hope those people have fun i guess, glad you took the time.

My party is lvl 7, so maybe im under leveld or something. My party consists of Me (Rogue Assassin), Shadowheart, Laz'ael, and Karlch. When the fight starts I get to go first naturally so I focus on the big dudes (you'll see why in a sec), I use my boots to blink on the cliff edge next to the 3 skelly bois and get a sneak attack on the big guy and usually kill him. Then the first 2 big guys that go just run up to my party and shove one or two of them off a damned ledge and theres ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I get to do about it. So now I get to do this fight with 2 people (occasionally I have 3 as they only shove 1 [usually shadowheart] off the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ledge)

I tried switchign out Karlach for Gale but they still shove 1 or 2 people off the ledge. Then I proceed to get my teeth kicked in. IF Shadowheart is still alive granted her turn undead lust wrecks most of the small dudes, but being down 1 or 2 of my team basically makes this fight infuriatingly difficult.

I turnd the difficulty down to Explorer to see if that would help but it didnt. I get that im generally not great at these types games, i dont minmax and all that as Im playing to vibe, have fun and roleplay. Ive been stuck on this fight for like 3 days and ive barely touched the game because of it and might wind up dropping it completely at this rate. Please someone help, the games not fun anymore because of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight.

Which fight is this the ketheric thorm fight w/ nightsong or freeing nightsong fight vs balthazar?

I think fighting Balthazar is much easier if you do it in his "room". Load an earlier save and fight him before you go to the nightsong.

yes, I always murder balthazar in his own room cuz its like- super ez

Yea, you better fight it in his room, lesser adds and no chasm. In the nightsong platform he carry more adds, use shadowheart's guardian spirits spells and set it to radiant damage and let her damage the adds using it. Personally i killed him in his room upstairs because he's up to no good. Also you seems to be underleveled, in act 2 normally you're already lvl 10 if you done all quest

Act 2 more polished, in act 3 you won't have freedom to do things like this because it might break questchain

Ill try that because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the fact that 1 or 2 of my people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ die before the fight even really starts has legit made me lose all interest in playing.

Another way I do it is only send one character down to the platform with nightsong and leave the rest onthat final ledge overlooking it. From there I take them out at range. You just need to watch out for the cloudkill.

They kind of screw you over in that fight by leaving you on the edge. I even silenced Balthazar and he still cast Cloud Kill on Turn 2.

While talking to Balthazar with Main Char swap to others to reposition them towards middle of room. Once fight starts make sure to burst him (haste potions etc.). Use Turn Undead with Shadowheart to make sure that half of minions are either dead or busy running away from you.

Can't you just swap the characters you aren't using and move them away from the ledge.. then switch back to you mc.. I know i can.

I had the grandest moment fighting him with the Nightsong. A big skelly yeeted across the map to sparta kick Shadowheart to her doom.

You need to use spell casters for this. I finally KIA him with my spell casters.
