TRESSYM COLLAR, how to get it without killing the cat?

So Gale has this cat Tressum and the cat wears the collar with teleportation skill. Is there a way to get it without killing the cat? Will she give it to Gale some day to "feed" the sphere in chest or somehow else? Maybe there is a cheesy way to take it?

don't know if it's relevant, but you can knock out a tara with a non-lethal blow and get a Collar, then rest and see a tara alive
