UNSTOPPABLE: Priest of Talos Tempest build.
All I am going to say is this game makes it extremely difficult for me to take my usual Fighter Main, when I can respec to this>

6 Levels in Cleric/6 levels in Sorcerer
Select Tempest (Lets you wear Heavy Armor)
Select Talos
16 in Wisdom
16 in Charisma
distribute the rest however but I'd recommend focusing on CON.
Take first feat > Magic Initiate: Sorcerer (means you are blasting Lightning Damage by level 4. But can tank better than Anything Else(Maybe a Paladin/Sorcerer Competes)

Take Choking Grasp (Melee +Lighting)
And anything else Lighting Related
Anything Thunder Related (Shatter/Thunderwave)
As your main usage spells.

Anything with Lightning Can trigger the ability to hit for "Maximum Possible Damage", with some of the most destructive Spells in the game.

Gear up for Lightning Damage and Lightning Charge Bonus in your gear.

So this guy is an absolute force of nature literally. My tips are as follows:

Kick off Bless First, Run directly into the Enemy and right when they think you are going to melee them, BOOM Thunderwave!! sometimes 3-4 enemies at a time for ridiculous Damage because of huge bonuses to lightning and thunder damage from your Gear/abilities/ and Channel powers.

I just cleared a whole room of bad guys in the Under dark by standing in the door way, let them all bunch up, and with two Clicks they were all dead, fried extra crispy.

You can Combo this, by Maining as a Talos/Tempest Priest and Respec Shadowheart to do the same, and have her follow up with Call Lightning Right after you do, Double hits for 60+ Damage.

So not only are you literally THOR, but can heal yourself/Allies+ buff yourself/allies Bane your enemies, and turn UNDEAD, plus here's the best part, You get Lightning Reactions, so that if anyone hits you, you get to react by doing more Lightning Damage!

Finally the High Wisdom and Charisma makes perception rolls and Dialogue/Intimidation Tests a Breeze.

This Character is literally the all Rounder, Good Tanking/DPS/AC19+ up close, Devastating from a distance, HUGE Team Support. There is nothing this build can't do.

I guess there's bunches about this game that I don't understand.

To start, you say 6 in Cleric and 6 in Sorcerer. How / When / Where do you do this?

  • The first step is to set the difficulty to balanced (explorer doesn't give you the option to do multiclassing).
  • Second step is to select a different class (there is a tiny button then in the "upper right corner of the big left rectangle stating your current class" - later you can switch between the chosen classes on each level up)

Note that you can change the difficulty back after leveling up.
It's funny you did all that and didn't mention you can dbl your damage output with the Wet condition.

So I could do all that, or I could get 1.person cast create water while a 2nd person casts a lightning spells and get literally the same effect.

Thanks for the help. I'm still lost on the dual-class part. Can I select both (Cleric / Sorcerer) at creation, or do I have to play a bit first?

you get the option when you level up, look for and icon on the right top corner of the table on the left side of the level up screen.

You can only level up one class per level up. So obviously the earliest moment you can select a second class is level 2, right after the tutorial ship.

Thanks! I remember from the old D&D days that you could only level up one class at a time. That made sense to me. I just wasn't figuring out WHEN I tell the game "dual class, please!"
