Ability boosting equipment?

Is equipment that boosts your abilities/stats a thing, and if so is it fairly attainable? Trying to plan an archer build, not super experienced. +dex equipment would be amazing.

Attribute bonuses are a bit rare and usually don't add a lot. The items that push your abilities really high are in Act 3 although I'd keep a look out for a pair of gloves in Act 2 if Dex is what you want to boost.

Yeah there is. In act 3 I got gauntlets that change your str to 23.

There are a couple permanent and equipment based bonuses. I think the highest permanent (without equipment) dex one can achieve is 23. That'd be one wasted point so better to just go 22.

Go 17, then you can hit 20 dex at level 4 with an earlygame permanent +1 to an ability score.

a merchant in the githyanki creche sells a pair of gloves that boosts dexterity to 18. lump the enlightened drops a headband that boosts int to 17, elixirs of hill giant strength boost strength to 21 and last until the next long rest. elixirs of cloud giant strength boost str to 27 but are much harder to come by

Boosts it to 18? Like a flat "sets it to 18", a +1 from 17, or a "boosts it by x as long as it doesn't go above 18?"

sets it directly to 18, as in you can respec your dex down to 8 and then with the gloves equipped youll have 18 dex. pretty sure if your dex is higher than 18 it gets lowered to 18

There's several pieces of armor that have +2 to a stat among other things. Also some weapons with stat bonuses on them.
