Can't craft anything with a *Cloud* Giant finger

Spotted a cloud giant finger at the apothecary in Act 3 that is a subcomponent for Elixir of Cloud Giant strength.

I bought it as I had never seen one before, but it doesn't come up under any subcomponent (ash, sublimate, suspension, vitriol, essence) that I can see.

How do I craft the potion if I can't grind three into an intermediate component? Must I find a recipe somewhere?

Sometimes getting the first item seems to unlock low level recipes.
As you keep using Alchemy you unlock more recipes.
Also finding books on Alchemy and reading them will sometimes unlock recipes.
And finally locating 3 of an item can unlock a recipe.

Yeah I've unlocked a number of recipes, but generally mixing three of something together unlocks the potion you can make with it. Not so with this one, apparently.

If you right click the finger in your pouch or pockets when you have three or more you can force an option to extract

One can just use the "extract all" button in the Alchemy tab - this also "learns" unknown components from all new ingredients. Easier than to keep track and do it manually via right clicking.
