Is the Knock spell a replacement for dedicated rogues?
I'd like to rotate some of the initial party out and losing the walking vampire masterkey is a little annoying.

It's completely redundant. None of the sleight of hands checks are that high unless it's for a door that gives you a shortcut or something. Any character with decent Dex will do just fine with Shadowhearts guidance cantrip, even she can open 99% of locks and disarm traps with just that. There's also gloves of thievery you can get early on which give advantage on SoH checks making it trivial.

How do you even learn this spell? Is it specific to wizards or something?

It won't disable traps but i can open any lock that isn't magical from a distance

Knock is great for the DC30 locks. All the other stuff should be fine with guidance/high/dex sleight of hand prof.

Nah.

Also even if it were good for both traps and locks you'd be running out of casts constantly. The heavily locked and trapped places have a lot of locks and traps.
