Orpheus or Emperor?
What would be the best decisions for my "GOOD" playthrough?

im planning on doing another one, but which would make more sense in a good run?

Orpheus. The Emperor clearly using the MC. Trust me, he is not for anyone's interests but his own.

Orpheus. Emperor's playing you.

Emperor, because he is our friend.

Orpheus in the end is just a Bit ch. We will always be lesser race for them .

Personally I'd say Orpheus. Emperor is honest when says he wants the main threat destroyed and that he'll hold up his end of the bargain, but he's all about self-preservation and tries to manipulate you to go along with his plan.

He's not a straight up villain but is willing to do questionably immoral/evil things to get his way, including lying, threatening, and killing innocent people/lovers, which comes across to me as the less "good" option.

Congrats, you just described a vilain.

I mean obvious spoilers:

For the "Best Good" ending in my opinion (I mean there is only really 2 endings anyway) Good and Bad...with just different flavors...

Freeing Orpheus, and then having him become a Mind-flayer to destroy the Netherbrain and then submitting himself to death = the Best "Good" ending.

For a few reasons.
1. The Emperor is openly selfish, a manipulator, and evil (if you learn about his interactions with the Bronze Dragon Ansur)
2. If betrayed the Emperor immediately shows their true colors, and joins the villains.
3. Orpheus's death means that the Gith will remain divided and can't unite under a single banner to invade the mortal plane...which they 100% would do, and instead are busy with a civil war in the astral plane.

Eh...arguably you can call that an antihero or more grey renegade sort of thing. "Ends justify the means" sort of character. Emperor does overall have good intentions, technically. He's just...well a mindflayer and falls into mindflayer habits lol

The road to hell...is paved...with mind-flayer good intentions.

If you do the secret undead dragon quest you will 100% not pick Emperor I can assure you. He is flat out gaslighting you the whole way.
Lamp Aug 20, 2023 @ 7:14am
You can also just refuse to trust the emperor at every turn and at a certain point earlyish in act 3 he'll get fed up and show you what he's really like. Which makes sense because it's once he's absolutely sure that you'll never trust him, he just drops the ruse.

And yeah Orpheus will straight up sacrifice himself to save the world.

Emperor.

People calling Emperor "an evil character" here are same people who killed Astarion because he pointed knife at them in the begging.

But honestly, the way endings are made, and whole act 3 is made, it all doesn't matter. Will be a more interesting discussion when they drop Definite Edition. Just complete it once and forget like it was a nightmare
