assuming youre asking about the difficulty in combat. jsut finished bg3 in tactician mode. and besides some early game struggle the game felt not hard at all. Divinity gave me way more struggles on tactician espacially in the early game

Divinity Original Sin 2. That game relies more strongly on specific game mechanics, while you have more freedom in Baldur's Gate 3 due to the variety of classes and multiclassing.

If you know how to build characters, both are easy.
However in DOS2 levels are much more impactful than in 5E - there are 40-50% differences between levels in DOS2, here it's 0-10% at most (except level 5).

i could say the same as DOS2. starts hard then get easy after you get comfortable with the game mechanics

the main difficulty of divinity 2 tactician comes from knowing whats going to happen in a fight. The main difficulty of baldurs gate 3 tactician is not losing on the 65% hit chance.

I'd say DOS2 was more difficult, because there's more environmental stuff that tends to kill you, at least in my playthroughs. The dice rolls in BG makes it difficult in another way though , just because you can miss so many hits and if the enemy gets lucky, you're basically out of luck

I feel like one is not necessarily harder than other... both can be cheesed the ♥♥♥♥ out in whatever difficulty. Now I`m sensing a greater amount of freedom to approach combat in BG3, DOS2 meta boiled down to achieve the highest damage per turn because how armor worked... here protection has many angles, you have resistances per each type of damage (only physical has 3 types of damage) to half, you only avoid statuses through boons or save throws against the number that the stat that matters for that status gives you... It just feels you can approach an enemy with many more angles.

I'd say Divinity 2. It's way more complicated, lack of real classes makes it even harder to grasp. At least PCs have much higher powercap which arguably equalizes difficulty gap with Baldur's Gate 3. There is no way you can make a character in BG3 as nearly godlike as in D:OS and that I'm saying not only from what I've seen in my playthroughs alone.

BG3 is an easier game overall, comparing top difficulty from both.

Yeah, DOS2 had a few encounters that could be a total party wipe unless you prepared in advance, had a really OP squad or were very lucky.
