Find Traps Spell?
Is this spell even in the game? Potions? scrolls? any one of 1000's of useless trinkets?

You know how find traps works, right?
If not, give it a read again.

Nope, you either make a perception roll or step in it.

Nope, it's purely a perception roll and if you all fail it then you're either forced to swap out a party member or bite the bullet it seems.

I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding this but doesn't this say it does tell you where the traps are?

If it pings, it tells you somewhere within 120ft is a trap

"This spell merely reveals that a trap is present. You don't learn the location of each trap , but you do learn the general nature of the danger posed by a trap you sense."

It doesn't tell you what is traped, or how trap looks, etc, so you know there is a trap, but don't know, how it looks. It's basically a failed perception check. You know it's here, but have no clue, what to be afraid of.

Oh lmao, that's my bad, I thought that last bit was you not a part of the actual description.

Ok lets cast a "trap finding" spell every 5 meters. Good idea.

fr I can't believe it's even a spell to be honest with you, not worth the ink used to print it.

Would have been nice for a spell or ability to give you another shot at passive perception checks. Save scumming can't be the solution to everything.

Not worth the 100gp in materials wizards need to copy it into their spellbook.

I mean save-scumming isn't the only recourse if you all fail your perception check to be fair. You could swap someone out, sacrifice a summon/familiar to the trap to get it out the way, or just risk it and hope you don't set it off. Of course it is easier to just load a quicksave instead of messing around like that but personally I find that knowing we all failed a perception check to be immersion breaking but I understand why it tells us since I can see a few people not being happy if it didn't.

Swapping your entire party out is much worse than reloading. What sucks is how the system punishes players' first time through. Running into an area to explore it, only to have all four members fail perception at whatever is there. "Okay... how far back is my last save? Damn."

Oh yeah I agree that that'd be a right pain in the butt for just failing a perception check, I was just giving examples on what you could do if you wanted to avoid save scumming and instead handle it in a roleplaying fashion.
