Cleric Spells and Wisdom
Spell access based on your Wisdom stat, or do you get the same spell progression no matter what your Wisdom modifier is?

I'm use to Pathfinder rule so I'm not sure and it doesn't really say anywhere from what I read.

Was wanting to make a War Domain Cleric, and since they're not really casting spells other than to buff and heal I figured I wouldn't need more than 14 wisdom if the spells were just based on level and not Wisdom modifier.

Thanks.

Spell attack rolls and spell DC is based on your WIS. These won't apply so much to your described plan. WIS also determines the number of prepared spells you can have, so yes i wouldnt go under 14. But 14 is probably fine.

Spells are based on level and class you are. Does not matter what your skill stat is at.

Your level determines how many spell slots you have and which you can learn. Your Wisdom determines how many you can have prepared and their effectiveness.

So how many more spells can I have prepared with 14 wisdom as opposed to 16?

In 5e spells prepared is cleric level plus wisdom modifier. I assume BG3 follows this. Prepared spell limit is shared across all levels of spells.

Plus domain spells. Those don't count against your limit

Spell attack roll and Spell save DC are bonused by Wisdom Directly

Also, the NUMBER of spells you can prepare is affected by Wisdom.

So if you have 10 spells, and you use your ASI to go up from 16 to 18 wisdom, now you can prepare 11 spells

None, there are no bonus spells for high attributes.
If you have a class which memorises spells, the number of spells that you can know increases based on your stat modifier + spell caster level, so a 1st level cleric with 14 wisdom can know 3 spells, while with 16 you can know 4, but both can only cast 2 spells per day.

each caster class gains new spell slots when they level up regardless of ability score. The number of spell slots a caster has is not impacted by their primary spellcasting ability score.

For Clerics, spells known is class level + Wisdom modifier

The DC (difficulty check - how hard it is to make the saving throw) of a spell is impacted by the primary spellcasting ability.

If you want a low/average Wisdom War Domain Cleric, you won't prepare (know) as many spells per rest, but you'll have the same number of spell slots (spells you can actually cast per rest) as a high Wisdom Cleric, and your spells that target enemies will be easy to resist.

12-13 is +1
14-15 is +2
16-17 is +3
18-19 is +4
20-21 is +5

Domain spells you will always know. They are always available for you to cast and do not count against your per rest limit of prepared spells. However, they still require using a spell slot when cast.

I suggest you take a hard look at all the War Domain spells and consider your Wisdom score. Spirit Guardians is an amazing spell but has a saving throw. Low wisdom means most enemies will make the save, but they'll still take half damage which is not bad. Some of the high level Domain spells also have saving throws. It's not a deal breaker for a low Wisdom War domain cleric, but just FYI.

Be sure to pick up War Caster feat at 4th level if you're going to use Concentration buff spells in combat.
