But the subtype does not make you a necromancer by any means. All wizards can cast the spells, but you can inscribe them more cheaply. For bonus necro powers you read The Necromancy of Thay to the very end in act 3 which gives you a nice summons (6 ghouls). I also picked up the ability to summon a mummy somewhere.
Killed his reindeer and resurrected one of their corpses to fight for us, had a familiar from find familiar, and 8 tiny beasts. it made every combat a massive slog so I wouldn't use it in a regular campaign, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it was funny. Pure summoner class.
