Same here, except that it happened during his first mega-attack. When I got the "get behind cover"-warning, I retreated all four of my guys behind some of those crystal columns, but all of them got hit/damaged very badly nonetheless when he "self detonated"- my rogue may have gotten away with a little less damage since he was the one with all the dragonslaying arrows and thus furthest from the dragon when he attacked.
In any case: During/after the attack, the camera zoomed up way above the fight and into a position I couldn't have put it in myself - and it stayed there. Couldn't zoom, rotate or move my view by any means... as if the camera had glitched out of the world/room or something.
The fight continued, sort of, but only the dragon was able to pull any real moves. I could still select my guys and have them heal by potion, but none of them could attack the dragon any longer.
It's a bit late now to try again, but I do hope there's a way of winning this fight without running into this glitch again. I'd been landing a ton of crits on the dragon (brought five arrows of dragon slaying with me), so I'm not sure I'll be able to kill him before he can pull that AOE attack.
EDIT: This might actually "just" be the camera stuck a storey or two above the fight and unable to switch back to the one my characters and the dragon were on. The game was still running and accepting other input ... but if the camera is stuck "out of plane", you can't really target an enemy that's standing on a different "plane" or storey.
S.
However you have to consider one thing: When it will make the attack, it marks the ground, and if your party is ENTIRELY struck by the attack, all will be unable to move, yes, because they are "kinda stunned", so it wont allow anyone to make any move until effect passes, and you have no one to remove the effect.
So there is that too ...
