Why cant I use frenzy with heavy armor?

It says rage impeded. Because I have heavy armor on, but the armor automatically makes me proficent with heavy armor? So, bug?

Barbarian actually works best WITHOUT armour. When you have heavy armour on, you're basically restraining your rage more and more whilst restricting movement. This makes it so you cant rage properly. Its not about profiency its about class passive

Under pointbuy, unarmored defense has not even a lick of a chance of keeping up with medium armor lmao. That's just straight up wrong.

Yeah it´s pretty much the case until late game, and then you need some of the best items and multiclass to really benefit from it.

reading comprehension is important in this game. I don't mean that as a dig on the OP. I made many mistakes in DnD 5e because I did not read every single word of a spell/mechanic/class feature, etc. These days,for BG3 or DnD5e I read everything to myself out loud, slowly, to make sure I understand it.

IMHO, Barbarians dont really care about high AC because usually their CON and DEX are high enough to work better than medium armor. If that's not the case, just wear medium armor and carry a shield. Barbs can still be powerful as a sword and board.
