Can't Revive Gale (Potential Spoilers)

I just got done beating Ragzlin, unfortunatly Gale died on the stairs fighting him. I did the pouch quest he gives you but can't revive him with the scroll, he's got the necrotic aura and it keeps saying "Target is blocked!" Is there a way around this? I'd really hate to just leave there dead.

Trust me, I feel awful about it! Ragzlin was at the top of the later and was supposed to be fighting my PC and then decides to hop off the later and 1 hit Gale.

I pushed him down to where the two spiders were, he doesnt have the key open hte door rest of the fight slayed him with range attacks :D
