Where are the Monk weapons?
I played to act2 and never ever found a single monkweapon cept for a simple quaterstaff (wich are mostly magical Mageweapons). I didnt find a single one.... i mean not even an NON-magic one. Where are they?

Please dont tell me its another cut content?

wow i dont know how i can highlight WEAPONS in the thread? but i guess i got my answer since noone ever found a classic monk weapon (like sai, nunchaku, tonfa, etc...)

If you would have started your thread asking for those specific weapons you would have gotten an instant "those are not in the game" answer.

Asking for monkweapons made everyone think you're asking about the monkweapons in BG3.

wait you mean there are no monk weapons like nunchakus, Sai, shuriken, tonfa, or ANYTHING ist in game? So basically a monk runs around with hammers and clubs and daggers?

This cant be...... would be ridiculous lazy and bad. They have to be somewhere anyone maybe found a shop if they are not dropped?
Dude this is a D&D 5e game, have you looked at the weapons for that 🤦‍♂️
...I think how BG3 works is that any weapon you're proficient with becomes a monk weapon.

You have greatsword proficiency? Congrats, monk weapon.

Also a ton of quarterstaves that are monk tuned. One gives lightning smite, another specifically boosts your unarmed damage.

If you're asking about things like tonfas, sais, etc, that's all gone with 5E really. They're just...clubs and daggers with different names. DnD 3.0/3.5 is when those kinds of weapons were around and mattered.

Its a big mistake by Larian Studios to treat all one-handed simple weapons that a monk can use as a monkweapon. swords hammer etc... and then making a magic quaterstuff that gives a +1 bonus on monk attacks but the quaterstuff is no monk weapon because its twohanded... it counts as onehanded when i wear a shield only. but with shield a monk loses a lot of boni. Quaterstuffs have been always monk weapons.

All of those are in the game. Those are all the weapons in DnD5E that count as monk weapons.
Fair enough, its a western selection of weapons, pretty crap but 5th edition not a surprise.
None of those are western weapons, they're generic English terms for weapons. A seax, gladius or xiphos are western short swords but short swords in general is a generic term. A pilum is a type of spear, just like thye qiang is a type of spear. Spear is a generic term. These are generic English terms for weapons.

Exactly, Nothing Asian at all.

You claimed they're western which is false. A qiang is an Asian design for a spear. So a spear is an Asian weapon. The spear as a weapon is extensively used in Asian cultures.

You know exactly what i mean. You are just carrying on for no reason. Bait.

You make a false statement and seem incapable of accepting that. Doesn't make me calling you out bait. Perhaps you could rephrase your statement ot be more truthful?

This game has zero Asian weapons.. For monks, better?

The game has no cultural weapons of any culture, it only uses generic terms so that makes sense. It also has no African, American or European weapons.

Are you gonna say it has no culture weapons when there's literally a katana in the game :lunar2019laughingpig:

you are born with your monk weapons. they are on the ends of your arms. and there are lots of gloves that buff those things on the end of your arms. whatever they are called.
Zackerie Aug 29, 2023 @ 4:34pm
you could always take dual wielding and carry two staves.

I'm 90% sure the salami's are the best monk weapons if your not going unarmed.
Snaef Aug 29, 2023 @ 4:51pm
Found plenty of monk centric gear, sadly.
Also, the sword coast isn't really that close to Kara-Tur, where you would expect alot of monks.
