Where are the Monk weapons?
I played to act2 and never ever found a single monkweapon cept for a simple quaterstaff (wich are mostly magical Mageweapons). I didnt find a single one.... i mean not even an NON-magic one. Where are they?

Please dont tell me its another cut content?

If you would have started your thread asking for those specific weapons you would have gotten an instant "those are not in the game" answer.

Asking for monkweapons made everyone think you're asking about the monkweapons in BG3.

Yea they're just the quarterstaffs. Although don't sleep on your fists - I think monk ends up being one of the best martial classes in the game full unarmed

Ah nice - this does also work with proficiencies that don't come with the class? Always wondered about that when I was close to roll a monk (which I then didn't -.-).
I got longsword proficiency from my race, and it counts as a monk weapon. AFAIK it's proficient weapons that aren't exclusively two handed. Regardless of where the proficiency came from, nor whether it is versatile.

there are none. the quarterstaffs are useless on monks because they dont scale on dex at all, so unless you are STR monk using one is worse than using no weapon at all AND even then STR monk is still better lmao
That's not even true. any one-handed weapon you are proficient in count's as a monk weapon. If its a monk weapon, it scales with dex. Quarterstaffs being versatile is enough for the monk class feature to allow it to scale on dex.

Oh - that's nice! This is what basically kept me from rolling a monk.

There are really a lot of awesome quarterstaffs - even in act 1. The best one so far is the one one could re-build after fighting some drows in the underdark.

Anything with proficiency that isn't 2h or heavy. With Gloves of Soul Catching and Boots of Kushigo, the gear funnels you into being a durable unarmed frontliner. And depending on team composition, regardless of difficulty, you can build one how you see fit. Still it's quite surprising that we see no fun weapons like ninjatos, katanas, claws, etc.

I noticed there are zero Asian weapons as well.

I carry at least 6 spears on my barbarian, there's at least one sickle I found. There numerous short swords and daggers available. Clubs are carried by goblins aswell as torches and sausages that count as clubs. There plenty of DnD monk weapons in the game but BG3 goes even further and any 1 handed weapon you're proficient with counts.

yep me too but not a single weapon still so i got curious. Right now i am rather sure its just unfinished game or content cut due to lack of time.
Gingermonkey Aug 19, 2023 @ 8:30am
act 2 i found a ton of monk armors, gloves, hats, etc. Several quarterstaves that would work too, i used a decent staff on my war cleric for most of act 2
