Coffeelock actually possible?

Yes I did search before I posted this, thank you. And while I've seen plenty of people MENTION the coffeelock, it's always come with a very unsettling number of appearances by the dreaded "if." This doesn't work for me, I need confirmation not speculation. So I'm going to ask outright:

Does the coffeelock trick actually work? Yes or no? Can a sorcerer turn WARLOCK specific spell slots into sorcery points?

You can literally respec your character at anytime so figure it out.

It works, kind of, but it's janky, and therefore not really possible?

Two problems
~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. When you create Sorcery Points using a spell slot it always uses your Sorceror spell slots first. When you run out of Sorceror slots then it let's you use your Warlock slots to create Sorcery points. Janky but kind of doable.

2. You can only Short Rest twice in BG3 (three times with a Bard.) Coffeelock is known for going "infinite." You can't go infinite with two short rests.
