I'm talking about the battleaxe in the sealed room.
edit sorry, only answered to the title question. The real question is "Have the battleaxe, but why isn't it recognised by the altar. Is it because I didn't kill the guardian spirit?"
After noticing the warhammer, that might be the case.
4 ceremonial weapons and 4 altars, the stain glass gives the hint, some books will too.
To sort out some of the confusion allow me to explain, I was unaware that I was placing the battleaxe on the wrong altar, as I didn't know the stained glass window was supposed to depict a warhammer at the time, I didn't realise there even was a warhammer as I hadn't been to the eagle's nest yet.
The eagles were no problem by the way, nothing that wild shaping into a cat and luring them away with a little meowing couldn't fix.
