Larion is really good at making party members you don't want to have
So, two entries on this list, just two, because everything else is manageable.

I[m not reading any spoilers, if any of these are simply single occurrence events or will never come up again, it is not immediately self evident.

1) Gael ate a magic item in camp, end of day 1. Fine, I can tolerate that, no problem. I wasn't equipping that "on miss gain true strike" spear anyway. He then immediately ate another magic item at the very start of day 2, consuming my spider boots because there were no better options. This follow up snack was less than 10 real-life minutes later. I sent him to camp and won't be talking to him again until i have some sacrificial stuff for his gaping maw. he's a fine character, really enjoy talking to him, i'm just refusing to feed him anything for a while. Like, until i actually have a supply. And the fact that the second thing i fed him, an object more precious to me, he told me was *ineffective*, makes me doubt that I will be able to sustain his "i'm going to explode" magic-hunger.

2) After completing the rather easy fight with the Paladins of Tyr, Kavatch went into a celebratory rampage, labelled by the game as "unbridled Fury". I've read the combat logs carefully, and she only *attacked* inanimate objects, however her "burning" effect downed two of my other three characters and resulted in one death due to failed saves. When she "calmed" down enough to give me back control over her (and my remaining party member, who had been ignoring my requests to aid another) my dialogue options did not include 'YOU CRAZY DEMON YOU ALMOST KILLED US ALL". Instead it had, at worst, a statement that she had seemed a bit mad. If this celebratory rampage is a single occurrence, i'm not happy but i'll never know because she's living in my camp until i find objects of fire protection for everyone.

Honestly, I have no problems with companions only because I killed Karlach, Lae'zel and Wyll ran away from me.
Useless artifacts are enough to satisfy Gale's hunger.

Sometimes these problems correct themselves, like when you actually read what your companions are saying rather than just skimming the dialogue options.

The only reason I don't keep Lae'zel in the party full time is because Karlach is lovable as hell and I need another ranged.

1) Pretty sure you can convince Gale to wait a moment.
2) Yeah weird how standing next to the burning lady hurts...

Ast is just the "I'm flamboyant, power hungry and like a vampire David Bowie" trope.

As I said, he's awesome and just to fabulous for you, as you admitted yourself hereby. :P

Lae is the "I'm a massive bit.ch so people think I'm a strong female character. I think everyone is below me. I'm like a dragon and you're like a worm (actual comparison she uses at one point)." trope.
Just as a young gtihyanki in her situation should be.

Says you.
Obviously subjective taste :P

I never said that flamboyant is fabulous for me also David Bowie was always mid. Flamboyant characters are the most annoying things in the game at all times. Also a "young Gith" in her situation wouldn't be like that. As you see the only people that are like that are the ones that follow the queen like a cult in tat creche. Other ones aren't like that at all. For the last thing. Th tropes are always terrible.

I mean I get it I hated most of the characters you get stuck with in Divinity and I really hate most of the characters in BG3.

But also most of these guys grow and change over the course of the game with a fairly believable character arc.

I still killed Astarion though man I'm sure he gets better but he was just to much for me

First play through I gave Astarion up to the vampire hunters (there he is officer... there's the horny). But playing through with him on my evil run because of necessity basically... he's actually fairly interesting. Very funny for sure. But like you said, they all get better over the course of the game... Except Karlach who was automatically bae for life.

In my first playthrough I stuck a wooden stake through his heart when he fang r*ped my neck without my consent. Even if you say that you won't let him feed off of you, you still have two fang marks on your neck that are bleeding in the cutscene. Even though you didn't before. So either Larian was being lazy (surprise surprise), he was able to feed off of you before you woke up so him asking if he can would make no sense or he somehow messed with our mind and fed off of you anyways and made you think that he didn't.

I kill him outside the nautiloid every play through. No use for him whatsoever. I'll limp through without a dedicated rogue until I get Withers and hirelings.

Gale doesnt eat anything without your input. If he did, bug.

Karlach does indeed go on a rampage, a very visible one at that. So just walk away from the building right away and let her do her thing, it NEVER happens again.

Homie didn’t even play the game lol

I'm back, many hours later. I'm back.
So, let me be sure I spell correctly this time, Gaoul and Caedrick was it?

Gale's magic item snacking must be tied to in-game milestones instead of an actual timer because, as I am long-rest adverse and carefully manage my daily abilities, day 3 started with feeding Gale. Thanks to this thread, I now know it was the last time, and had a object no-one in my party could use ready to feed him with. Cool story bro.

I think all the down time events are tied to in-game milestones too, because my 2nd night on the sword coast contained about 5 camp events, we gained a new camp companion, had a new sword at our throats, met the girl I designed about 30 hours ago, totally forgot about the face paint, got tragic origin stories from two characters, and fed Gale again. overall just good clean fun. Level 5 is going to be interesting.
