Ya dude it must be. Thank you for your infinite wisdom
I mean, all you actually need to do is let nightsong do the fighting while covering in fear somewhere occasionally taking hits to take heat from nightsong.
If you chose to not have nightsong on your side, well then you must be skilled enough for making that choice.
Without giving spoils to the public I'm talking about the fight where you choose to side with "the emperor" or the prince.
I agree with you and I do normally use them and still had an issue. Gave both melee characters I have in my party size increase elixirs and spammed hold person. Those monks just succeed saving throws on almost everything but the grown melee buff hits. I couldn't get closer any other way given my current resources and party. I just didn't want to stay up another 6 hours reloading and retrying again on another fight that was failed within 4 turns every single time. They have so many turns to hit in one go especially the AoE that can and does insta kill or take most health away from multiple members. You start the fight with everyone basically being near each other as well and there isn't much to do environmental wise other than hopefully pushing them off if they're positioned near one luckily.
Yeah I got that.
You're basically fighting Monks, right? Right at the beginning of Act 3?
As a general random tip I could just tell you to space-out your characters to not get hit by AoEs, but I don't remember that fight as being overtly difficult.
Maybe I just got lucky.
What are you struggling with? Are you buffing your party before the fight ( Bless, Haste... )? Are you using summons?
The emperor is useless on that fight UNLESS you use the easiest mode. He misses everything otherwise due to the obvious +1000 on saving throws for them grimlin looking freaks. Good joke attempt tho my friend.
The issue with that is your starting position even if you stealth it seems to just cut to dialogue and you're all grouped together pretty close in that narrow entrance pathway.
But yeah, Elixir of Psychic/All Resist, Drow poison, Level 4 Aid spell, Haste and focus fire made the fight pretty easy.
I didn't spend 6 hours on this fight I was talking about Ketheric. I was saying I retried that fight multiple times (phase 2 mostly) with more turns in comparison to this one and kept failing until my stubborn arse won. This one on the other hand I just couldn't let my stubborn mindset win because it was every reload I died so fast.
