Should I just take the loot Viconia offers after killing her or should I spare her?

Is there any benefit to letting her live?

There is really no difference story wise. Killing her will get you some nice things, also Jaheira and Minsc have different opinions on your choice. J will approve letting her go, Minsc will approve killing her. Even if you let her go, she will take the hint and never show up again in your story.

While in the dialogue for that choice, i swapped to gale and killed her with dethrone.
It's my go-to spell for killing any major character. It's just so fitting.

Not killing her feels like a very weird choice in most circumstances. It's just there with the meta idea that I, a person who has played the previous titles and might have an existing impression of Viconia, might not want to kill her.

Just FYI if you grab her loot while she KOed and then let her go you give her back all her stuff.

I didn't even get a dialog option as she just died along with the rest of her followers. Course I clustered them all up and paved over them with cloudkill, ice storm, fireball, and chain lightning. Scrolls are so dumb in this game, but so fun. :)

Just to add in case any paladin players find themselves here. If you're a paladin, letting her live breaks your oath.

You can loot her without killing her, when she's knocked out, just pickpocket her stuff.

I feel like the mercy option is there for people who loved (and sometimes romanced) Viconia in BG1-2.

Given that my PC was not alive for those events, and this VIconia is beyond redemption, I kill her.

Viconia deserves to die with all her goons and that stupid darkness crud they cast all over the map.
