Can You Own a Home in BG3?
I can't find the answer anywhere.

No, but some of the characters do. Jaheira runs an orphanage, and Wyll is basically heir to Baldurs Gate, Lae'zel's home is the back of a dragon, soaring the astral plane.
shart's home is 'home is where the heart is'

You don't have to play an MMO or a live service game to own a home. In DnD you can own a home, a keep, you can even run a business. This is a dnd game.

Interesting. I've not played a D&D game before. I hear the steep learning curve is worth it for the richness of the stories. I may give it a try.

So you never played Neverwinter Nights 2, Pillars of Eternity 1/2, or a number of other D&D and D&D-adjacent games that made a home an important part of the game?

Honestly, I really wish we has a home base of some form. 3.5e had a few magic items that amounted to the old Morrowind/Oblivion "house in a bottle" modding fad. Hell, 5e has Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion and it could be built into a magic item that allows for permanency of stored items and would make a lot more sense than some of the campsites we pull out of hammerspace.

What is Fable, Monster Hunter World, Baldur's Gate 2, Skyrim, Pillars of Eternity and many others? You don't only own houses/hideouts/personal space in MMOs.

It can be a cool feature in a lot of games if well developed.

Mildly spoilery, but in contrast to some games like Skyrim or DAO, which essentially take place over the course of a year, the start to finish of BG3 is generously a month.
Your "home" is your camp.

People will come and go to your camp depending on what you do throughout your journey.

It'll look more "lived in." I think you can also decorate it as you see fit with the junk and it won't reset, but don't quote me on that. For example, I've seen people shower Karlach's tent with teddy bears, or give Shart's tent lots and lots of Selune memorabilia.

That's incorrect. If you change areas or move camps, nothing you've placed stays. I think that's why people want a home.

I, literally, said "don't quote me on that." And here you are, quoting me on that -.-.

The compulsion to correct someone, never fails on the internet :b.

Well, "don't quote me on that" just means, I might be wrong but I'm not sure. I'm just making you sure. ^_^ don't want misinfo floating around.

You can own all the homes, if you clear out their previous owners first. :steamhappy:

I like to have a home base most of the time in the games I play. It’s a major part of the immersion for me.
