this isn't an mmo or some live service game
shart's home is 'home is where the heart is'
Ok.
Honestly, I really wish we has a home base of some form. 3.5e had a few magic items that amounted to the old Morrowind/Oblivion "house in a bottle" modding fad. Hell, 5e has Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion and it could be built into a magic item that allows for permanency of stored items and would make a lot more sense than some of the campsites we pull out of hammerspace.
What is Fable, Monster Hunter World, Baldur's Gate 2, Skyrim, Pillars of Eternity and many others? You don't only own houses/hideouts/personal space in MMOs.
It can be a cool feature in a lot of games if well developed.
People will come and go to your camp depending on what you do throughout your journey.
It'll look more "lived in." I think you can also decorate it as you see fit with the junk and it won't reset, but don't quote me on that. For example, I've seen people shower Karlach's tent with teddy bears, or give Shart's tent lots and lots of Selune memorabilia.
I, literally, said "don't quote me on that." And here you are, quoting me on that -.-.
The compulsion to correct someone, never fails on the internet :b.
