Yeah they overdid it with the gay/romance stuff.

I was also turned off when every single party member was scripted to come on to me sexually in the middle of act 1.

Like, tone it down, you know? I just want to kill some goblins and raid some tombs.

If you want it, there should be a special dialogue line to initiate that branch of scripted scenes. And thats it. It should not be triggered by default with every single character after reaching a set affinity level.

It's a role playing game, maybe your character is gay? Ever thought of that? Maybe they do want to bang Gale even if you don't. Maybe you should consider their feelings or that BG3 is set in a world where being bisexual is the default, not straight. You are breaking your own immersion by forgetting its not you in game, it's not earth, it is your bisexual, furry avatar who wants Gales man love.

You can't. You have the choice between flipping him off or have buttsex. There is no in-between. The dialog options are not clear enough to keep it at bro relationship. You never really know how far you can go.

What would be so bad about having [Romance] indicators? It's not even just about the gay stuff. It's simply impossible to convey what is a sexual advance and whats just fooling around with a simple text messages. There is so much more to such conversations in real life. It's not just what you say, it's how you say it. Some people don't seem to know this ...

what part of that statement says "I dont like it's possible to romance a man as a man." Far as I can tell nothing, you just read one word in the title and jumped on it without understanding the post. He is clearly critiqueing the aggressiveness of the romance dialogue and it has nothing to do with it being gay, he just chose a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ topic title. Your denying reality man

This has not happened to me, and I'm well into Act 2 now. Only Lae'zel, who's people have a different outlook, and Astarion, who was faking it, have openly propositioned me without me initiating it first.

Said no to both, and that was that.

But he does have a point. At times I felt like my character had a mind of its own. I, too fell for Gales magic candy trick and even though I tried to politely decline the advance apparently my character disagreed and wouldn't stop giving him the bang me eyes.

I eventually gave into my cis-white male dirty tendencies and romanced shadow heart just so the game would stop scripting my character into wanting that weave D.

For real. Just a plain old 'I dont want thirsty companions' settings would be nice. Maybe force you as the MC to do something particularly romantic/heroic for THAT character to enable the romance option.

I don't think I have seen anyone say they love how romance or sex is handled in this game. That's not the argument, most people agree it's cringe and too overt. The issue is people using it to make constant homophobic comments and threads. If people didn't make the issue the characters gender and instead their actions I don't think there would be many disagreeing with the sentiment.
