Why it isn't possible to dismiss a multiplayer character?
I friend of my asked me if he couldjoin my party to play some battles, I accepted.

But now, I can't even sent his character to the camp... We should be warned about this, because now I have a NPC that doesn't interect with anything, with me all the time...

It has been told in video/post where they talk about multiplayer... But it is not told in the game.

I agree, i made a similar post when i discovered this today after getting a few hours into a 4 man custom session. Missing dialog is one thing, maybe even companion quests to a degree, but there should be some way to put custom chars at camp to change from a custom to a story character when you want.

Currently, even if you kill off that custom character they are still stuck in party, you have to do some scripting to get around it. Seems like a bit of an oversight, I want to have faith that Larian will address this eventually but IDK because I have not seen it mentioned enough.

Problem is you're treating this as a Diablo, or other MMORPG game with a server you can log in and out.

This is an RPG game, that is a campaign, so if you decide to play with someone you do it to completion. And if you don't want that, then invite a person and allow them to play one of the original characters - that way you can dismiss them later.

No, it seems like you think this is MMORPG, when it's not.

Allow them to join and control an origin character. You can dismiss those.

What?

I know it isn't Diablo, but I can't even sent the character to the camp? This doesn't makes sense, this is not Divinity Original Sin 2, that you have only 4 character for all the game, but some characters that can be changed if you want anytime;

It's no excuse this...

I'm loving this game, but this was a awful design decision

Because the devs' level of care only extends to the point where they may add this feature sometime in the future - maybe the first major patch, maybe several months from now, maybe in the $60 definitive edition in 2025, maybe never.

Because they're marked as 'Avatar' characters. So like you can't dismiss your own character, you can't dismiss other 'Avatar' characters.

Original Baldur's Gate games (and NWN) handled dismissing multiplayer party members just fine, it's disappointing this isn't managed much better in BG3.

This guide works, have used it myself, but be aware that this injects third party dll which may not be safe: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15qb8lu/guide_removing_custom_multiplayer_party_members/
