Rewards/Loot totally underwhelming
Anybody remember solely the rewards one can get when doing the "Free the slaves" quest in BG2? Lilacor, the Tugian Bow, powerfull and memorable items one could get around level 8/9.

Now let us take a look at loot in BG3. One gets showered with dozens/hundrets of rings, boots, gauntlets, headpieces and weapons and not a single one of them is really memorable nor has it a unique background story.

Sad, but loot in BG3 is just arbitrary and fungible, and I don't want even start talking about the hundrets of empty or junk filled containers which are just there to buy game time.

Thats just straight up wrong though. You can get the blood of lethander, an incredibly powerful, memorable and cool piece of gear at an earlier level.
And there is countless others. Sure, there is a bunch of practically useless vendor trash, but the actual big items are still MASSIVE.

You are right, I shouldn't have written "not a single one". I have found the Blood of Lathander as well, but sad truth is while being unique it is neither good nor helpful being a cleric weapon no melee guy would want to use.

I am beyod the monastry and the forge. The best - in terms helpfullness - items I have got is Minthara's armor around lv 5 (advantage on CON saves on a light armor is good) and a certain snakish medium armor, which I bought in the Last Light Inn. Still, this is way too few good items. I mean you solve a Shar riddle and what do you get? A dagger with +1d4 necro damage at a time when every character has better stuff. No exactly what I call good loot distribution. Besides all the irrelevant rings and boots get on my nerves; they are bloat and pseudo-loot for the single sake of buying playtime.
oh ok so you missed like a dozen of the things you could have by now if not more

So a +3 weapon with a bound 6th level AOE spell that also gives fiends and undead blindness when they're close to you isn't good enough? Well i'm sure if you complain enough larian will make it so that tempus himself greets you in the next game right after chargen and gives you a holy avenger at lvl 1.

Yeah, Blood of Lathander has basically hard carried me throughout my time in Act 2. Persistent Blindness on virtually everything combined with Bless gives me 80%+ to-hit with my martials even with GWM toggled on.

Really missing out if you don't have someone wielding it.

You didn't play BG1 or BG2, have you? Otherwise you wouldn't post such bs. If you have INT >=8 you know exactly that Lilacor and the Tugian Bow are no legendaries, but memorable and good items. Think before you post, youngster.

Could you name one of those you assume I have missed?

Loot is for the most part pointless and does nothing. Just gobble up tadpoles instead. The only thing worth anything is a few spells on items. AC means nothing in the later game as well.

Same reason the monk without armour and weapons is the absolute best class.

Mate there was literally like less than 10 +3 items in the whole of Bg1 and one of them was a cursed two-hander that made the wielder go berserk on anyone which made it next to useless.

Yeah, praise the Lord (Lathander). You found _ONE_ item in the whole game up to level 8/9 which is good. Now tell me of the other seven or eight (not unique ones, just memorable ones), please.

How educated are you? Both Lilacor and the Tugian Bow are items from BG2, not 1.

There's no point since your expectations are obviously skewed to the point that you think you should find Mystras magical tactical nuke in some random barrel.

Adamantium Armor. I'm still using both suits I forged, which is a whole process in and of itself even late into Act 2 because immunity to crits and the Reeling debuff is kinda sorta really strong.

Karlach is still using the Sussur Greatsword I made hours and hours ago, which was also a whole thing to find the materials for.

The returning Pike you can purchase in the Goblin camp was also totally absurd for a while before I found a better weapon for Lae'zel in the crèche. You also find a ring off the same vendor and a pair of gloves in the Underdark that buff thrown weapon attacks, so it got very silly for a good chunk of Act 1 throwing a giant spear for twice the damage of any of my other attacks.

There was also a hunting shortbow that gave passive advantage to ALL of your attacks on a certain creature type while equipped. Came in handy in the Underdark for a long while.

You can pick up some cool stuff like darkfire shortbow that has haste on it and make a pretty rad heavy set of armour in the adamantine forge and thats available really early. And as other have mentioned the blood of lathander is pretty cool as well.

you can get a good armor early on in the grimforge and you'll probably keep it as long as possible
