I'd say no - as a wizard needs INT and a druid need WIS for spells. A better combination would be cleric + druid (both WIS). You can see the spellcasting attribute in your spellbook.

That's not really how scaling works.
A spell doesn't do more damage with levels in your class. The only way to up your damage is to upcast a spell (casting it with a slot that is higher than its level, like fireball has a spel level of 3, if you want more damage you need to cast it with a lv 4 5 or 6th slot).

So multiclassing won't change that, you'll still be able to upcast (the number of slots and the number of spell prepared is calculated with the sum of all spell casting classes). The main thing multiclassing impairs for spell is the list of spell known. A lv 3 druid will only be able to learn 1 and 2 spell levels, they will never access lv 3 4 5 and 6.

Yes there is some scaling that could be felt. However, this scaling is not offset in the background with the character level or the class level. With fighters, for example, it doesn't matter (except, of course, that abilities of later lvl are not unlocked).

But with the lvl in Wizard (and I think also Druid), besides new spells, also spell slots of higher level are unlocked. All the unlocks just mentioned are based on class level, NOT character level. Since you can also cast some spells you got at e.g. level 1 with a higher level spell slot, you might notice in the later game that spells might be too weak because you don't have higher level spell slots due to multiclassing. Regardless, you won't be able to unlock all the class spells depending on how many classes you level and how the distribution is.

Cantrips scale with overall player level, spells scale with spell slot and whichever spellcasting ability the class that gave you the spell uses, I think spells from items use the highest modifier of Int, Cha or Wis for their spells but unsure.

When you multiclass between multiple spellcasters you get the same number of spell slots but will learn less higher level spells

it says on the stat description, to which class this stat scales abilities.
For wizard for example its INT, so if you raise your in to 20 (17 base and +2 +1 with Feats) your skills will deal huge damage and also all of the rings+weapons can increase the stats.
