After the mad hype and the frustration

I'm starting to settle down and my feelings about the game are actually pretty positive.

I'd say a strong 8.5 game that I'll play again from time to time for quite some time.

So, how do you feel about the game if you also went past both the honeymoon and frustration phases?

but it is a Baldur's Gate game so its 4/10

the hype tho deserves a 1/10

its funny watching streamers who never played crpgs before try it because of the hype and give up after some time

I mean if its that bad what are some recent 8+ crpg that u have been playing? honest question becuz i want to play more.

The most recent 8+ cRPGs I can remember are Wasteland 3, both Pathfinder from Owlcat (but use a mod to automate buff, things go crazy in the late game, specially in PoTR), Pillars of Etternity 1 (beter story) and 2 (better graphics and combat mechanics) and maybe Tyranny.

To me it's Starfield and then CP2077: Phantom Liberty.

I put it in the New Vegas tier as well 8.5-9.0; its pretty buggy near the end and the ending kinda sucks but I enjoyed my time with the game. The recreation of DnD is absolutely phenom and still one of the best games to come out in the year.

For me, TotK still the best game to come out in 2023, we'll see with starfield & AC6 (also excited for cyberpunk dlc)

Has flaws, but so does every CRPG, and I'd still consider it one of the best CRPGs I've played. Easily 9.5, going to top a lot of 'best RPG' lists in the future I predict.

loved the game but the ending sucks. Act 3 needs work. I will give it an 8. player 2.7 times already. and will keep playing till starfield I guess.

I am waiting until the game is out of early access and until we have decent combat system overhaul mods.
It is too unpolished right now

Tower of time is one of the best cRPGs and real time with pause done very well.

Tyranny is by far the best world building, lack of budget is telling, shame they will probably never make a follow up.

Pathfinder games are amazing if you have patience and accept Jank lots of Jank.

Pillars one is a dull fest in my view, I forced myself to play through this 2 is much better.

Wasteland game are great, the Shadowrun games are amazing but the lack of budget is telling, still well worth it (skip the very first one).

Disco Elysium is a must, even if you dislike cRPGs, writing is too good.

Torment is another one with great writing just fell far short of the original Torment.

Better than I would've expected for Divinity: OS3. Hopefully after another three years of development and patching they'll finish it and we'll get to see the original vision of the game as opposed to this hurriedly crocheted quilt.

Solid 8, the lack of a custom party (NOT RESPEC'D HIRELINGS) and the crappy romance writing bring it down for me, I imagine the late game probably wouldn't help my opinion though.

Yeah, me too, but I'm mostly testing builds respeccing my last camp save, don't have it in me to replay the whole thing, and this is coming from sonone who played 970 hours during the EA period...

I thought custom parties and hirelings are the same. can you tell me the difference?
