If you released the pixie from the moonlantern, you should have a bell that you can use.
If you killed the pixie by turning the knob, the lantern may still work if you equip it.
If you don't have the bell, the lantern, or the protective spell you should be able to get one character into Moonrise towers (where there is a lantern upstairs in Balthazar's room) by careful use of the Feather Fall and Enhance Leap spells to jump quickly there. (1 Level in Wizard is enough; probably Sorceror and maybe Warlock also options, and you may have Feather Fall boots).
I don't have a video showing the exact location of the lantern - you can work it out after entering Moonrise and progressing there - but this speedrun - https://youtu.be/VKfvMnTPfTs?t=436 should show you the positioning of the jumps to get into Moonrise Towers; link is set at loading screen to entering the Shadow Cursed Lands.
i would have to do a second play trough to answer this question, since i made top priority to seek help. was playing as a neutral good.
but i've always entretained the idea of killing everyone when i do a urge playtrough. just to see what happens. but that gonna take a while for me since i wanna at least finish this game once before armored core comes down.
