[NO SPOILERS PLS] how do I know I'm leaving act 1?
I want to stay max I can and do everything I can find in act 1 since it's the best and the others seems to be having performance issues :')

No spoilers pls, but will I know that I'm leaving act 1 before leaving it? Will I loose access to the locations I have right now?

the game WILL tell you that once you proceed to a certain point you cannot go back. It will absolutely give you a warning, whichever way you go, underdark or mountain pass. it will be obvious

It outright tells you that you will start Act 2 if i recall. However, you can still go back to act 1 locations till almost the end of act 2

You don't lose access to act 1 areas going into act 2, but it will auto conclude and/or fail any open quests from the region. As Ponky said, you'll get a warning. Definitely save before crossing just in case. Some of the quests are difficult to tell they are in Act 2 and not act 1.

Yes, there will be specific popups when entering certain areas (in all cases, ones that require map changes) that advise you that things will advance by proceeding, and giving you a chance to back out.

You do not lose access to locations until the end of Act 2, though some events will progress whether or not you resolved them.
