I traded a legendary spear for a rare spear…
Not sure if that was worth it but I don’t fancy sharing Shadowheart with a goddess famous for making people misplace their memories especially when I am trying to XXX her.

But a part of me wants that legendary spear…

And then there’s Gale who is sad even though I already rejected him…

Not sure what to do…

You get another legendary spear for re-converting her, don't worry.

I am already regretting losing the spear, but I just know that this is the kind of game that would say Shadowheart forgot about me and abandon me if I get that spear.

Just keep going. It will all be ok.
Shadowheart is the Liara for BG3, the story goes more or less the same, and you get close to her more or less the same, romancing her or not. Difference is: If you cant or wont romance her, she friendzone you.

For people who work with those things (not me, but I do work with many of them), it is the way you see how a story was originally made. Like, there are 2 ways to make a "branching narrative" (which does not mean what people think it means). Either you make Character stories, or Arc stories. BG3 uses Arc stories, which also reminds that character arc does not mean what people think it means. Point being, BG3 does not make a individual character story style, it is an Arc style. So no matter what you choose, the flow remain consistent with the overall Arching story. And as it seems, the "main story" or what kids these days would call "correct timeline", or "lore canon", it really does not matter what you do, things will go the same way.
If you got the spear, it will "show up" when it is needed at the hands they need to be, just like if you leave Shadowheart at camp when the artifact must be with you, it "flies" to you. Same way when there are situations to be solved, the interlocutor will say "I must speak to your leader", and one way or another, if a specific character needs to have something somewhere, it will happen.
Must blatant example I got: I killed Laezel, and her body "followed me around" practically from the start of the game to the end of Act 1, into Act 2, until "suddenly" she was alive and well without me trying to resurrect her or even minding her, so the Gith "Matrak" (my people call "mouthpiece" a Matraca) can speak with her and forward the quest about the Orfeuist rebellion, even without my own wanting that questline.

While all games making an arc's branching story, (as I said, branching narrative is not one that goes different ways, but one which have different ways to go the same "where") discretly steers you towards the "main timeline", BG3 simply nails you to a chair in the rails, and simply changes your progress should it wander too far.

lol its not the spear its the synenergy between the 5 pieces of gear u get when she stays shar...the garbage u get for having her go selune isnt worth the time or effort...the only and i mean only good thing about the selune path are the two camp npcs and their completely awesome dialogue...so if u are in it for crpg save nightsong...if u are in it for power and turning shadowheart into prolly the most powerful toon in the game go shar

Lmao not even close. That gear is pretty obsolete when you can do the same (darkness with blind immunity) on a fighter that can push hundreds of damage per round with the balduran greatsword.

Option 1: Darkness set for stabbing people in the shadows.
Option 2: Lathander blood and items that benefit being in the light.

Before you think darkness option is bad, she becomes a tank in the shadows and you can use darkness to cut off archer vision too. Even Astarion is loving the darkness because I can stealth, leave, snipe, reenter the shadows, and nothing will shoot back at him because they can't see him.
