Can't find Quest-relevant Githyanki NPC named Youth Varrl

He owns a book that I didn't take when I first talked to him for roleplaying reasons, because it seemed to be his only source of joy. Now I'm trying to tie up loose Quest ends before continuing to act 3, and Google tells me that the book this NPC owned was one of the History of Orpheus texts.

thing is, the Githyanki are now hostile toward me and I can't go back in the temple, so I send Astarion to go pick-pocket it but I just can't find him. Does anyone know?

He is the dead githyanki dude in the Creche training room. Behind him or on him is the crest. If you entered Shadowfell in Shar temple, then you cannot go back, elsewise underdark and monastery again:P

thanks for your answer but there is no dead Githyanki in the training room. I want to clarify that he survived the initial meeting, so he should be alive (unless they decided to kill him for owning the book)

Think you just can't succeed in the quest then. When the creche becomes hostile, Varrl disappears along with the gith children, so I don't think there's a way to get it unless you had him murdered first before the whole creche becomes hostile.

You can also just talk to him and he'll give it to you of course.

Had the same problem. You have to let him live and than trade it from him or convince him to give it to you. If he lives and you miss to speak with him, than it's over. He disappears.

I am having the same issue but I killed all of them and I went room to room and he not there

Because I'm a good person and wanting to relieve all of them the suffering of living, i killed all of them. Now i cant find Varrl to take the book. Should've killed him the first time we met.
