A figher can simply use a bonus action to JUMP the same distance as a caster spends to cast the fly spell... or the misty step spell....
when a fighter can attack you 7 times in a round with tremendous damage per hit... and still has high HP, armor etc. while a caster has less hp,armor and has terrible physical attacks...
I mean think about it. You can even twin spell and use 2 chromatic orbs with metamagic... yet a simple fighter will be able to deal more damage and actually KILL an enemy on his turn if he chooses.
the fighter will land about 6-7 hits killing someone or multiple while you simply twin cast a chromatic orb... which did negligible damage to 2 or 3 enemies... yes negligible damage.. meaning they basically have 80% of their health still.
Casters= weak and under powered.
Needs to be addressed otherwise every player should just be playing the same class some version of fighter because you can't go wrong its way more powerful
I think too you are playing those class wrong, but this is not the place, read the topic, this is not about what you think of casters class
If you care about lore and backstory, no one in your party should be a Sorcerer. If you care about having a good character, Karlach should be your Sorcerer. Wyll can be later for exactly the same reason. Laezel also makes a decent option if you use your Astral Knowledge on social skills and place her proficiencies elsewhere.
As for the other comments made: if you think casters are weak, you don't know how to play casters.
I've got this staff that gives me a lightning charge every time I deal damage to an enemy and a necklace that makes an additional magic missile so I can have one wizard haste the other one and then the other one casts a fireball or magic missile, gets 6+ lightning charges, then casts a ranged attack spell like scorching ray at the big nasty and each hit deals the bonus damage
most encounters do not last 3 rounds for me, and if they do the enemy is already crippled by then
I'm not even using charm or hold person
I went with Wyll, personally Warlock just...doesn't really do anything for me. So I made him sorcerer, no regrets.
Give him the gloves of dexterity (Sets his dex to 18), keep him in light armor, put 1-2 points into wizard and have him equip the circlet of tarnished intellect that sets his INT to 17, and give him 1-2 levels in wizard. Rest in sorcerer. This lets him have all the perks of a sorc, but can scribe spells like a wizard, filling out his spell repetoire (You can learn spells up to how many spell slots you have; since wizard and sorc are both full casters, you don't lose any spell slots and can learn spells that your sorc can't).
And while Wyll obviously is mechanically perfect for a tried and tested Sorlock build the only thread I can pull that maybe can fit into place is after you recruit Karlach and Mizora "transforms" Wyll that maybe that transformation awakened a dormant Infernal bloodline. Feels kinda bland though
Edit: Ignore the first part. It's late and somehow my brain was mixing up sorcerer and warlock for a bit. Gale comments on not being a warlock, not sorcerer. Sorcerer makes sense for him.
